Dominican communicator, diplomat, and lawyer Doris Nouel was elected at the World Congress of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE World 2024), held in Punta Arenas, Chile, from September 23 to 27.

At the 25th World Congress of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE World 2024), held from September 23 to 27 in Punta Arenas, Chile, over 147 journalists and writers from various parts of the world gathered to share experiences and discuss the future of communication. During this significant event, Dominican communicator, diplomat, and lawyer Doris Nouel Martínez was elected as the new president of the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE).
Nouel Martínez, who also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Magazine Vínculos, has a strong track record in advocating for women’s rights. She also leads the movement «Mujer, Soy Tu Voz» (Woman, I Am Your Voice), a platform from which she launched her candidacy for Congress in the Dominican Republic this year.
In addition to her work in journalism and politics, Doris Nouel co-hosts the morning show DEBATES DE IDEAS, aired Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. on channel 77 of Hilando Fino TV.
Her presidency at AMMPE World will extend until 2026, with the challenge of organizing the next World Congress of the Association, which will take place in the Dominican Republic.
Founded in 1969 in Mexico, AMMPE World is a globally prestigious institution. Throughout its history, it has been received at the White House, the United Nations, the OAS, and by numerous heads of state and prime ministers in the countries where its congresses have been held.
The outgoing president, Elia Simeone, expressed her best wishes to Nouel Martínez, confident that her leadership will strengthen AMMPE’s mission and legacy in the years to come.
